I was introduced to Bike the US for MS almost exactly 13 years ago. After having just been diagnosed with MS and still struggling with the physical and emotional effects of this, a friend quit her job and signed up to ride her bike from Bar Harbor, ME to Seattle, WA. The next year she went on to become a route leader and now runs this amazing organization that her partner, Don, started.

Cassie’s tremendous commitment motivated me to buy a bicycle and join a 60-mile segment of the Northern Tier, followed by a 300-mile segment the following year. When I read about the Olympic Peninsula ride, I knew I had to find a way to do it, and when I realized biking would commence on my birthday, it felt like fate. I’m beyond excited to be joined by another dear friend, Penny, and my brother, Robby, on this epic summer adventure.

Bike the US for MS provides the funds needed to further research and support within the MS community. MS therapies have come so far and give people like me the ability to live a life where I can occasionally forget I have MS and the hope that I’ll avoid the deterioration that so many people have experienced. It’s amazing how my diagnosis opened my eyes to how many people have been impacted by multiple sclerosis; how many sisters, daughters, aunts and neighbors are living with this often invisible condition.  I’m riding this summer in memory of my uncle, Tom Meredith, whose brave battle with MS shows how far we still have to go in stopping this crippling disease.

Your tax-deductible donation will go directly toward improving the lives of those impacted by MS, as well as supporting research & treatments. I’ll be training hard to crush 20k feet of elevation and I would love your support in making this a meaningful endeavor for the MS community. Cheers!
